Most companies have the same problem: valuable information scattered across documents, messages, and systems with no way to access the right information when it's needed. As a company grows, critical business data becomes impossible to locate and teams waste months searching for information that should be instantly accessible.

This problem nearly capsized an online multiplayer game I was brought in to fix as they scaled from hundreds to thousands of players. Support staff didn't have the capacity or the tools to handle the volume, and the monolithic data infrastructure that handled everything from sensitive player data to payments began to fail. By the time I moved on as the technical lead, I had unified their data infrastructure in a system still in use today———multiplying their capacity to take on volume without adding headcount.
